Intrarectal Instillation of Clostridium difficile Toxin A Triggers Colonic Inflammation and Tissue Damage: Development of a Novel and Efficient Mouse Model of Clostridium difficile Toxin Exposure

Last Updated: Aug 30, 2018 01:28PM PDT
"We are using purified TcdA and TcdB from List Biological Laboratories Inc. in an effort to discover novel drugs for treating recurring C. difficile infections in humans. To this end, the toxins are admixed with drug candidates and instilled intra-rectally into the colons of mice as described in Hirota, S. et al. (ref). Drug efficacy is then determined by the reduction in intestinal inflammatory markers relative to untreated control animals."  "List Labs purified toxins performed well in our assays."
